OUR GOAL

Minos Leuven is a student association that aims to facilitate debate among students on the EU and on other European topics. Our organization might be politically neutral, but that does not mean our members have to be! We try to open up the conversation to everyone, regardless of their chosen degree, programme or political views. So whether you would consider yourself a eurosceptic, a eurofederalist or rather something in between: you’re very welcome in Minos Leuven!

We have pursued this goal for Belgian students for quite some time now by organizing debates, lectures and in-house ‘Minoscafés’: small events where we bring our members into contact with an expert so everyone gets a chance to share their views and questions. With Minos International we are taking it a step further to start a truly European/International debate. By having this international branch of Minos Leuven, we would like to create an environment just like Minos Leuven for Leuven’s many Erasmus and other international students. We are also aiming to contact other organizations similar to ours across Europe to strive for a true Europe-wide debate and the creation of a ‘Minos Charter’.

We would like to help you organize meet-ups, events, debates and lectures, using our local organizing infrastructure. You will be part of a team of international students and some Belgian locals. Whether you prefer teambuilding and meeting other international students or whether you would like to organize a hardcore lecture series: what we do is up to you!

We will also try to provide ample opportunity for you to mingle and meet with our local Minos members (and maybe organize an event together?)! Does this sound right up your alley or do you still have some questions? Don’t hesitate to contact our board members for International Affairs.

The ever ongoing pandemic might still influence this project. Nevertheless we will do everything in our power to ensure we can have safe and virus proof meet-ups. We hope to hear from you soon and use your energy and ideas to help shape this project for years to come. Tot snel!
